Two Quick T38 Questions

1. Was the bore of the T38 rifle chromed like the bore of the T99?

2. Did the T38 use Metford type rifling?

I'm just curious because I have an absolutely beautiful T38 with a full mum and the only mismatched parts are the dust cover, cleaning rod and magazine floorplate. However, the bore is badly pitted and the rifling is shallow and the lands have rounded edges. Fortunately it shoots much better than I would expect considering the condition of the bore.

Mauser 1871/84 stock removal question.

"Public Enemies" The Movie

I recognized a lot of the period authentic firearms in this movie except for one.

The rifle that Melvin Purvis (Christian Bale) used to shoot "Pretty Boy" Floyd in the orchard scene appeared to be either a 32 Winchester or a 30-06, but what was the rifle make and model he was firing? It had a beaver tail style bolt handle on it, and almost looked like a Mauser variant.

Any ideas?

I have what I presume is an M-96 Swede. I found it in a used gunrack in the local Gunsmiths shop/store for $150. It had already been Bubbafied! Long story short, guy wants to pawn a handgun and shop owner turns him away. In the parking lot I inquire about what he has and out the door comes a screaming shop owner, running off the other guy and threatening me with a call to the sheriff. Front sight

How do I keep my front sight base from moving on the barrel?
It is a slip on ring type base that the blade slides in from the side.

Tokarev Operation Question

I have recently purchased a Polish Tokarev I am very pleased with.

I have shot it once and was very impressed with the round and accuracy.

I made up some dummy rounds to test a magazine that was giving me problems, basically, misfeeding. When cycling the dummys, they would feed and eject properly when I manually operated the slide. However, when I cycled the slide, then pulled the trigger, the slide would NOT go out of battery unless I manually pulled the hammer back....
