The annual pumpkin shoot today--mid 50's, sunny, good company, plenty of pumpkins, and a Nissan sedan.....
I decided on a show of force with Mauser carbines leading..Iranian and Moroccan..leading with noise and blast--crowd pleasers, for sure!

First, my camera quit--I'm getting photos sent to me by "The Club Photographer"..(makes him feel cool!)

Just beginning with milsurps... prior purchases were nearly 100% NIB, soo... when examining a potential milsurp buy, after pointing the muzzle in a safe direction, and opening the action to check that there are no cartridges in the fixed magazine, and that the chamber is indeed empty, is it proper gun etiquete to shine a bore-light in the chamber, and examine the barrel/rifling from the muzzle? Or should one remove the bolt and do the exam from the breech? Checking from the breech works with...

I was out for a short test ride on a newly acquired 2006 Zongshen GY200 (Chinese copy of a Yamaha 200) motorcycle last night. It was a beautiful bike I'd bought from a friend because he needed the money to fix his furnace. $700.

I'll be OK but here's what happened. It was beautiful out last night. I was going to fly out to visit a pretty girl in LA this AM and was going to be gone for weekend so I wanted to take Zong for a spin.

Tragedy at Ft. Hood

I'm sure you have all heard about the incident at Ft. Hood so I won't be redundant with the details, and if this post is OT please delete it, just thought I would let some people know who hadn't heard about it that 2 soldiers at Ft. Hood killed 11 other soldiers and a police officer and wounded 30 others with handguns. A sad day for the nation when 2 soldiers in uniform massacre their fellow soldiers, I'm just waiting to hear the full story as to who these scumbags were and...

I think I'm going to Chicago.

Not because I really want to see the city, although BASE jumping the Sears Tower might be fun....

I've always wanted to see the U-505 so why not this winter? I could take a train......I don't know anyone up that way to stay with though, a drag.

Was thinking about a thread started by Dalkowski110 on the thread "military semi-autos" in refrence to the Romanian AK Darco pistol. Was a comment made by MountainDoc and myself that it was pretty much usless but what a blast to shoot. I'm sure we all own such a gun and wanted to know what yours is. Mine is a semi-auto MG42. Now this gun really has no practical use for me yet I love it like a long lost brother. Can't hunt with it, it's not very accurate, takes a while...

My question is this: was there an AK47 muzzle threading tool to cut the left hand thread on Clinton era gun-ban AKs going around on this forum?
If not, I apologize for my fuzzy memory. Aging does that

Hello all.

As I was gathering up misc parts for some of my winter projects, I ran across this old stock. It has ben sitting in my basement for 15 years or more. For the life of me I cannot remember what it fits. So before I get the saw out and start butchering it up, does anyone know what this stock fits?
I would hate to chop up a stock that someone may desperately need to finish one of their projects.

M76 issues?

I've heard a couple stories about the Yugo M76 builds going out of headspace after 1K rounds or possibly less, and some other issues with the US receivers. Anybody have anything to say about this? I'm thinking of aquiring one of these as it looks more suitable to my tastes than a PSL. Now I'm paranoid about it..... I'm a bit gunshy when it comes to Century builds in general, anyways.

I am a welder/mechanic by trade.The other day we had a piece of stainless pipe 16'' long 4" OD. and 2" ID. This was left over from a project we had done on a kiln outage.I ask the boss for it and he said it was only scrap anyhow, its yours.The wall thickness is 1" so I was thinking of building a golfball mortar with it.The question is how and can I legally build this?I live in northern KY.Anyone know the laws regarding building such a contraption?I would assume since it...

I was thinking today about firearms I wish would be produced, withing reason, that I would definitely buy if they were made........not stuff like 20mm autocannons or a GAU from an A-10, but real guns that could actually be available if someone would tool up and make them or existing companines would make them.
