    I have a sporterized Arisaka 99  that was rechambered to 300 Savage then to 308 Win.  I have some  pulled bullets from old 303 Brit ammo and heavily
corroded 7.7 ammo. (Kept some pf the better ones for my collection) Thinking of pulling heads of the 7.56 Argentine ammo to use the  .312 dia bullets. Would
those be ok to use?

			<description><![CDATA[ I just bought what, if the info at the top of the forum is accurate, a Series 6 Nagoya 99--wood &quot;sporterized&quot; alas, but metal in excellent condition
with mum completely intact and receiver and all bolt parts matching--but the bolt is the type that was used from series 7 onward, with the thin handle and
cylinder knob.  The sights are pre-Series 7, with an adjustable leaf--no anti-aircraft sights ever present--and &quot;ears&quot; protecting the front sight.

			<description><![CDATA[ <p>Just received some Japanese 6.5 from an auction that listed it as surplus. Wasn&#39;t sure surplus of what. It was clearly older ammo, but that is what I
expected. The headstamp ID has them from Kynoch factory in England, 1916 and 1917. A little information searching found that this was produced during of course
WWI, but not for Japan, but for use in England in second line weapons, which I would presume to mean Japanese rifles. Any information on how Japanese rifles

firing pin, and safety.    Unlike my other Japanese rifles the upper barrel band is un-numbered.   The mum is ground, and the Japanese characters for
&quot;Type 99&quot; were never stamped on the receiver.   The rifle has not been messed with other than some over-aggressive cleaning (steel wool??) of the

28 (I think), it has a mum (from what my dad told me, my uncle shipped it home before the war ended). The rear sites open and extend and be blade was made at

markings on it. It does not have any import marking on it either. I have a chance to buy it for around $200.00

			<description><![CDATA[ I&#39;ve run across mention of a Japanese 6.5 rifle that by some fluke was rechambered to .30/06 and survived firing quite a few rounds without damage. This
has been quoted by some to support an argument that oversize bullets will not greatly increase chamber pressure.

Apparently the NRA ran some tests on this rifle many years ago. They reported that the bullets were elongated by passage through the small bore.

			<description><![CDATA[ <p>First, thanks riceone; a couple of good wacks and I got the old sight spring off.  I was reluctant to hit an old milsurp that hard but it worked.

Now, on further disassembly I found that my Type 38 had a rear long buttplate screw replaced with a phillips head screw.  Gunparts and Springfield Sporters
