shooting firearms, Ive had an interest in WWII for a long time now and saw a k98 this summer in an antique shop and picked it up. I was curious as to this guns
history, and also any tips on getting cosmo off? I&#39;ve been told everything from gasoline to boiling water and I dont want to damage the gun, its in great
shape.

			<description><![CDATA[ I have the opportunity to buy a Czech VZ24 in 8mm. It has a mismatched bolt, but the lion crest is intact. In the pictures the wood looks like it is in very
good condition. The seller says the grooves are a bit dark, but the lands shine and are sharp. He wants $325 plus $30 shipping. I&#39;m not all that familiar
with the VZ24 (but I would like to have one); is this a reasonable price? TIA. ]]></description>

I just obtained a prewar French Mas 36 and stamped in small letters just under the serial number in the stock is a small stamp, LK5.
<br>
The theory is that this is either a German capture &amp; check mark or possibly a German unit assignment stamp. However there are apparently no German
documents known so far to prove this theory.

What do they look like?  Also, I know alot of Czechs don&#39;t match, so if I find one with a perfect crest that doesn&#39;t match should I take it before one

			<description><![CDATA[ I&#39;m new to the group and mew to VZ24s. ANd I&#39;m hooked! I just received my first one from SOG. Is is an E3 Lion 37. I&#39;d call it 80% original blue.
The receiver has been scrubbed. No crest or anything on the bridge. The barrel and receiver are the only things that match, #555_. The stock and bolt are not
heavy with cosmoline. The stock is dark and grimy. The bore is the only problem. The rifling fades to nothing about an inch from the muzzle. It has not been

			<description><![CDATA[ I have a series  4  VZ24  with only the date {1940} on top of the receiver Romanian issue {I think}and two lines on the receiver. Serial is PP XXX The end of
the barrel is two pieces. I believe teh series 4 is the most common of the vz 24s. The barrel has been fitted with a unrifled 1.75 inch long cylinder machined
to the same outside diameter of the barrel. The cylinders bore is .360-365 inch in diameter. The actual rifling on the rifle stops 2 and 5/32 inch down from

can remove it without ruining the stock. Tried acetone and some comes up but still, there are gooey bubbles of cosmo/old finish mix coming up.

It&#39;s been cleaned and touched up, but the bore is still rougher than 5:00 shadow.

I picked it up for the crest and matching numbers more than anything else. It&#39;s pictured with a refurb&#39;ed bayonet, notice the paint on some of the

completely through the rifle.  Why is it set up this way?

3. My K98 bayonet attaches well enough, but there is about 1/16&quot; of free play in the catch. Is this normal?
