I've been lucky enough to be able to shoot a lot of different rifles. From 22 short to 50-70. Frankly, I've been surprised at what a pleasant rifle the GEW 88 is to shoot. I use a cast bullet load that is mild, accurate and easy on the rifle (and shooter). I could shoot that rifle all day. It's a real joy. You can almost hear the battle cries when you shoot
one of these old rifles.
And there is nothing like the smell of burnt gun powder.

Its amazing how good they will shoot.
