I&#39;ve been considering getting my concealed carry permit for a few years now and so have read up on my state&#39;s laws regarding the issue. One thing
I&#39;ve noted is that (in addition to Federal property and banks) I cant carry on posted private property, which around here is anything from Wal-Mart to a

			<description><![CDATA[ The establishments that put up no carry signs in all likelihood do it on advice of corporate counsel.  Legal counsel is always trying to think ahead to provide
a safe (or at least safer) legal position for their client or employer.  Meaning, if there was a shooting inside a certain establishment and it involved a
concealed weapon (carried concealed legally or otherwise) and injury occurred, the legal position would be stronger if there was a warning sign up posting the
area against weapons... ]]></description>

			<description><![CDATA[ We are very fortunate in KY. Open carry is legal, concealed carry (with permit) is legal.

If a gun prints or your shirt rides up over it, no problem. You just went from concealed to open carry. I am not aware of anyone being charged with brandishing
if the gun doesn&#39;t leave the holster.
<br>

			<description><![CDATA[ Some states, from what I have read, allow a shop or store management to put up the signs and in those certain states you could be charged with trespassing I
think it was if you carried your gun on their property.  I would have no problem ignoring thier signs or better yet boycotting thier business. ]]></description>

Fortunately, I dont need to worry about that. I decided waiting sucked so I went and looked up Missouri&#39;s laws myself. <a target="_blank" href="http://www.moga.mo.gov/statutes/c571.htm">Chapter 571 of the Missouri Revised Statues</a> has 4 sections of particular concern and relation to concealed
firearms: one for the permit (how to apply, if it&#39;s revoked etc), one for the places... ]]></description>

			<description><![CDATA[ When Minnesota went concealed carry, some business put up signs, then took them down after loosing money.  The big retailer, Target, was contacted by lots of
us who asked them not to put up a sign, which they wisely chose not to put up.  We had a restaurant chain that did Mexican food who put up signs, I even wrote
them and told them not to.  As far as I know, their entire chain is now closed down, I felt very festive when I saw their place near me empty, stripped out and
with a sign out... ]]></description>

			<description><![CDATA[ When Texas first got its CCW law, we saw lots of those signs. Don&#39;t see so many now. Somebody went around and told them that if a CCW holder entered their
place without a gun and was killed or injured in an encounter with an armed intruder, they would be liable for not providing adequate protection on their
premises. Even big shopping malls and interstate companies like Time-Warner got the message. Amazing what the possibility of a lawsuit will do to their
anti-gun views ]]></description>
