Good points everyone.
Prime example, neighbor called and told me that there were people pushing on my fence and getting into my back yard today. I call the police and headed home. Usually I keep an XD9 in the car. It was left in my night stand, so I had to go check out the crib unarmed. Well I had a bayonet... It is now over an hour later and no cops have shown up. Saturday kids were shooting a 12g in the street. Now they are climbing from fence to fence back yard to back yard. I dont...

YES, The 7.62X25 is a bit much as it stands, especially the FMJ. They are a bit too hot to expect much in the way of self-defense. HOWEVER, That being said, I did do some experimenting.... I decided that FMJ is the worst ammo for self defense long ago, but it is also the cheapest way to feed the CZ-52.. So I pull the bullets on much of my mil-surp ammo and replace it with similar weight but more efficient projectiles. As I have done this for years with many different loads & calibers, it...

Just another thought on the topic. Why not just carry a holstered pistol around the house? I'm a gun nut too, but that might provide an easier resolution to your dilemna. No law (yet) stopping you from wearing a pistol in your house or in your yard. I think that's especially true if you live in the county. I know it is in my neck of the woods.

My house is brick I'm not worried about penatration, if I have to pop one through a wall then I want it.
I have a CZ82 between the bed and box spring. Camp 9 under the dresser. Colt 32acp in the couch. XD9 almost always by my side. AR and L1A1 with mags loaded in the safe. Yea more the better. I'm not going to argue against your strategy, just the choice of weapons.

I have to major issues with the CZ-52 as a home defence weapon. #1 the 7.62x25 round has way too much penatration for home use and #2, I want a home defence weapon that anyone from my kids to my girlfriend to Mom can pick up and use in an emergency, under high stress conditions.

Double action revolvers are ideal, they are completely point and click, a close 2nd for me would be an XD-40 or a...

I don't find this idea all that far out of line. Let me ask this question. If you live in a two story house and your weapon is in the night stand by your bed upstairs, what happens if someone kicks in the front door?

not sure about the concept,but I once knew a fellow that kept a pistol in every room,packed a pistol on his hip at home all the time,except shower and mating,and carried a pump shotgun with him in the house all the time. jwr

I've always felt that if I needed a firearm in every room of my home,
it was time for me to move to somewhere a bit more safe

I know I always hated them but I have adoped a new policy that there should be a loaded gun in both bathrooms, rifle and pistol in master bedroom, hi cap pistol in the couch and a high power rifle in the music room all weapons to have rounds in the chamber except long guns. So I am looking for 2 CZ52s for my bathrooms. Does anyone have them anymore? Have CnR but hate show shopping. Thanks guys and gals! No worries no kids or drunks and dopers in my crib
