If I have to, I can drill a vertical hole through the rear of the scope mount, then drill and tap a matching hole into the rear sight mount. This would be near where the spring screw was located. I'll wait to see if the epoxy holds it OK, though.

Nothing holds it down in the rear part? Would reinstalling the spring put force on the front to keep the rear of the mount stable?

Rear sight leaf spring stuck in my 1916 Mauser

I knocked the pin out, pulled the sight ladder off, and there was the spring, held down by its screw. I removed the screw, but the spring won't come out.

This Mauser has the "roller coaster" sight base. Has anyone else seen one of these springs STUCK? I tried to knock it loose with a screwdriver and hammer, but no go.

Where can I find an exploded view or a schematic of the Mauser rear sight? This one is on a Spanish Mauser, one of the earliest ones.
