I knocked the pin out, pulled the sight ladder off, and there was the spring, held down by its screw. I removed the screw, but the spring won't come out.

This Mauser has the "roller coaster" sight base. Has anyone else seen one of these springs STUCK? I tried to knock it loose with a screwdriver and
hammer, but no go.

Where can I find an exploded view or a schematic of the Mauser rear sight? This one is on a Spanish Mauser, one of the earliest ones.

If I have to, I can drill a vertical hole through the rear of the scope mount, then drill and tap a matching hole into the rear sight mount. This would be near
where the spring screw was located. I'll wait to see if the epoxy holds it OK, though.

Sorry Henery,

I have no idea about how a 1916 Mauser rear sight is put together. I don't even own a 1916 Mauser. You might want to try the Mauser Forum.
Happy New Year!
