In response to chevyguy76's question some prices are being bounced around which are pretty much on the mark, except for the fact that you may not be
factoring in the older style sight mentioned. If the '43 Inland has a correct and original flip sight that easily adds $100 to the rifle's overall
value. It would cost that much if not more to replace a type 2 adjustable rear sight with the correct flip sight. If the majority of the Inland carbine parts
are correct Inland...

Hello Rustybore, it is a USMC cross flap canteen cover. It is a later type with a large hole on the bottom of the cover for water drainage. IIRC it is known as

Sgt Rob P, what can you tell me about the canteen cover in your picture? I bought one like it at a yard sale last year, it was part of three complete canteen,
cup, belts, and cover setups I bought for $3. I sold it at the Reno, Nv. gunshow for $50/plus. The buyer wanted it to "fill" his collection.

I think if you have a C&R you dont have to have the shooting qualification as I have never been to a match shoot and dont know of any clubs in my area that
have them. I thought this was a requirment, maybe I am reading it wrong. I am kinda in a shooting dead zone here. I used to have a commercial Alpine carbine
that had many GI parts and it was a blast to shoot( foolishly traded it off) only paid 200.00 for that one
thanks again

Hello Ed, this is a service grade. They were $479 IIRC when I bought mine. Just checked the CMP and they are now $495 as you mention. Still should be about $60
cheaper. Why do you need a C&R?

That is a nice looking carbine. Was that a rack grade or service grade? I have not yet looked at the two in person but from the pics and description he gave
me and what the cmp description is I would say they are service grade or better but I am no carbine expert Looking at the cmp website the cheapest service
grade inland is 495 plus 23 shipping plus dues to a club, and then I would have to get my cr another 35. Figured I would be close to 600.00 and with my luck I
would not get as nice...

Here's a pic. Mostly Inland in a Rockola Stock, typical postwar adjustable rear sight and bayo lug barrel band. Non FAT marked correct M1 stock came with
it straight from CMP.

Even w/ shipping and dues to GCA you will save @ $100 bucks over the price you mention for the above. How well do you know and or trust the seller? My CMP
Inland is far better than any thing I have seen brought in from elsewhere. And MW is a tad under 1.
