Picked up a Arisaka 44 about a year ago.

Mum not ground but mismatched numbers.

Not in real bad shape but the stock had three staples in the wrist.

The crack is not all that bad.

How should I fix it?

Would like to find a better stock for it but I dont think that will happen.

Could cut out the damaged wood and replace it - arsenal repair.

What kind of wood is it? And does anyone have a broken stock that

I could salvage some wood from?

Man your good!
I screwed up three time cutting it to size
and trying to get the grain to work.
Finely use a old piece of Mauser stock to finish it.
I'm not very good with wood.
Almost didn't post pictures - But I think they turned
out better than the stock.

Thank all the same!
I did learn something from it all.
There's some great, helpful people around like
your self.

Bummer about the staples. You could remove the staples and fill with Accraglass mixed with sawdust. Won't look original. You could also cut out the area
around the staples and graft in a piece of wood, would appear to be an arsenal repair. I do have some original stock wood I'd send you for the postage.
