Hi Sportsfans,

I am back again. I was on here last year hunting up
a non firing replica of a Colt Walker and that went nowhere - there are none available other than second hand, if you can find one. Now I have another question that I will come to.

So I bit the bullet (if you will excuse the pun) and decided to take on the Australian gun

Hi Tony,

Thanks mate - I will have a yarn with Cleavers when I go in - but $500!!! Damn I can nearly buy a Dragoon brand new for that!

I priced some Uberti stocks on the USA market and they worked out about $240 AUD plus postage - and then impounded by customs on arrival, so no mileage in
going down that road.

On the other hand my Walker is on order and I am waiting. I am also waiting for the books, a safety course, membership of the pistol club, getting in...

Thanks again Aubullet. I looked that up on Amazon. They have a companion book 'From Pattersons to Peacemakers' and sell them as a pair. I will get
both. Should make a reasonable knowledge base for me as I begin really learning.

Yup I guess that a locally made shoulder stock is about the only solution to that one.

Aye

I don't know about a link to point you towards, but Dennis Adler put out a book, "Colt Blackpowder Reproductions & Replicas" That you should
be able to locate. It has a whole bunch of this sort of info in it, commemoratives, collectables and lots of etc's!!!

If importaion is the only real problem with the shoulder stocks for the pistols, then perhaps you could get one made locally or DIY? Just a thought.

Some of the Colt 's 1851 & 61 Navy .36's and the 1860 Army .44's were cut for a shoulder stock and are known as the 4 screw models. With the
buttstock mounted, they were then intended to be used as a carbine. There is also made a reproduction of the M1855 Root revolving rifle in .44 cal, but
it's price is very steep, I think on the order of $1500 usd.
