I finally got a chance to shoot some pics of my newest Mosin Nagant, an M91 made in 1895 at the Sestroryetsk arsenal, it is also a Finnish capture at some
point early in it's life and I am still researching all the marks and features of this weapon to find out it's full history. This one has to be the
crowning jewel in my large Mosin collection and is a superb shooter with a remarkable barrel and rifling. The Finnish 2 piece stock is in suprisingly good
condition and all markings...

Thanks zeebill, there is very little discoloration of the bluing beneath the handguard, I too believe that it was added a little later. The camera in question
is a simple Kodak V1073 10mp camera that I bought off of Ebay a few months ago, it is one of the Kodak factory refurbs like I have used in the past and they
have never failed me yet. Besides, I didn't think I'd get hurt for $89 for the camera with a one year warranty.

Quite a nice piece for sure and hard to find any from that arsenal at all today. I think the hand guard shows Serbian vintage too which makes me wonder if
maybe it was added at a later date. Is there much or any wear to the blue under the guard in your first hand opinion? I would say that is a Remington mark on
the trigger as you have said. Great detail in all the pictures makes me ask what kind of camera are you using? Congrats on a hard to find example in excellent
shape! Bill

here are some detail shots of the 1895 Sestroryetsk Finn capture M91 I posted the other day. Guess it turns out to be an 1894 Chatellerault receiver with an
1895 Sestroryetsk barrel, the bolt appears to be early Tula judging by the hammer in circle markings and am I mistaken or is the trigger a Remington?

thanks for all the comments, I did find out the other day exactly how good a shooter it is. Upon taking it apart I discovered that the receiver is actually an
1894 Chat. with a Remington trigger set and a Tula bolt, the old marks are on the bolt, the Tula hammer in a circle, not the later Tula star with arrow and it
also appears to have a very old shim in the stock. Seems as though the Finns really knew how to make the Mosin work better

Beautiful! The stock in particular looks excellent. I have an Izhevsk M91 SA dated 1896, and it's my crown jewel too. But that Sestroryetsk is rarer still.
Mine is a great shooter as well, and I'll bet yours is too.
