I&#39;ve accumulated a great collection of enfields but have a real desire to convert one to 308.


Are parts available from time to time on ebay or anywhere else or is this a pipe dream ?

There&#39;s more to converting a Lee-Enfield to .308 Win than just a barrel. You need to modify the extractor and the mag.

Ishapores were not converted No. 1&#39;s. They were made from scratch.

1950&#39;s - early 1960&#39;s. It was to be a stop gap effort designed to alleviate the time between developing, testing, &amp; fielding a self-loading rifle
by converting No. 4 rifles from the vast stocks of WWII &amp; post WW II No. 4&#39;s.</span></p>

would be any improvement.

Besides, the list of things that you could accomplish with a 7.62x51 #4 that couldn&#39;t be done using .303 would be extremely short.
