I went to a local gun show today about two miles from home.  I had NO intentions of buying anything since money is tight, very tight.  There was a gorgeous
1912 M96 Swedish Mauser that I would have grabbed if times were really good but I couldn&#39;t justify $400 for it.  As I wandered around my eye caught
something really strange.  It was a 1903 Turkish Mauser modified to 7.92 x 57 in an M96 Swedish Mauser stock.  The guy had it marked... ]]>

Thursday AM but I don&#39;t want to use any Military surplus ammo at this point. I do have an old box of Norma 8 x 57 JS with 157 grain bullets that I may try.

purchased it. Nice looking rifle; all Mauser. Put-together? Hells-bells, a Gamo air rifle costs $100 more than what you paid for it. Have you fired it? How

			<description><![CDATA[ I&#39;ve looked several times at the photo gallery and short the rifle apparently &quot;legitimate&quot; for any specific model, it is a nice looking rifle
with the work pretty well done. I am partial to the M96 so that may flavor my opinion. If I had bought that rifle with the understanding that it was an arsenal
produced military model, I&#39;d be unhappy with being duped. If I bought that rifle because I simply liked the appearance and the sum of the parts, I&#39;d be

			<description><![CDATA[ I was viewing the Turkish Mausers on Gunbroker and found an &#39;03/38 with a serial number stamped on the receiver ring in the same location as my Turdish
Mauser.  The font is different though and the numbers look smaller.  The seller claims only the receiver, barrel, and sight are matching so there were no games

It does have a very good bore however that measures .311&quot; at muzzle, where it should be, and has no muzzle wear.  I did send a link with the pictures to
my Century Arms rep and he said he forwarded to customer service to trace the serial numbers.  If they actually do it, they&#39;ll be on a wild goose chase

			<description><![CDATA[ How do we know that this rifle was put together in an attempt to defraud anyone??? Perhaps some guy with a little bit of gunsmithing skill put this gun
together on a whim, just to suit his fancy. Let&#39;s face it; this was probably a $25 Century U-fixem special that some guy bought 8 years ago, and slapped
into a M96 stock (with the help of a dremel ) just because that was the only stock he had in his garage.

			<description><![CDATA[ If it shoots well I&#39;d say it&#39;s still worth $150 as is. It may be a Bubba Masterpiece but it is still a nice looking rifle. I think I would probably
remove the sight ears and install a proper front sight base. Or.........if it shoots like a pig......well, then their are other options to be considered with a
large ring small thread reciever that shall not be discused here. Lets just say that the 6.5x55 makes a very nice deer rifle.

doing it, though. It would be one thing to modify the stock and drop in the barreled action but tinkering with all the other stuff is another issue. To make it
