these carbines are probably importer cut down rifles for sale to the public. Does anyone know for sure? How about Peruvian Mod 91 short rifles? Thanks for the

			<description><![CDATA[ Looks like the most common locally-made 1891 carbines observed around here. More properly a short rifle, they were made from cut-down 1891 rifles, showing a
refinished cut-down stock, bent down bolt, Lange-type rear sight, 24&quot; or so SJG-stamped replacement barrel, cut-down cleaning rod and few if any
lettering, s/n or crest remaining after the rebluing/polishing process. Most were probably seldom used (Corrosive-primed ammo and ill cleaning procedures would
otherwise prove me wrong) and... ]]></description>
