Mountain doctor,

I uses pretty much same SOP during my work day although I can't carry any protection. Since I work in Chicago kitty-corner to City Hall I alway have to be mindful of the zombies! I went to, or all things, a Combine Demolition Derby in Lind, Washington. A cross between redneck heaven and Zombie-Land. That, and many obese scantically clad women. All I had with me was my KT 380 so I laid low and pretended I did not have a brain. It was easy there!

Looks like there may be some good zombie hunting down in Georgia! Just be sure to wear the enough hunter orange so that your not mistaken for the undead while afield!

I'll bet that Doc's Saiga .410 loaded with a full mag of 000-buck would work wonders!

He could disable the gas-system and make it a "bolt-action".

Here's a good one. A Winchester '94 in Colt .45. Big fat heavy slow bullet with excellent un-dead knock down power, fairly large magazine, good in close quarters, and you can use the same ammunition in your Taurus .410 Revolver!

Steyr M95 long rifle Lots of power, quick(er) action the carbines are too short, and the long rifles give you some extra stand off with a bayonet! plus some extra velocity
2nd choice Mosin M91 or 91/30 possibly even M44 for "room clearing" hahaha
would an M1 Garand with the gas tube nut taken off count as a "straight pull bolt rifle"! if so I'll go with that I think Ive seen an aftermarket gas tube nut with holes in it to allow an M1 to be legally made into a...

At work when they were installing some equipment in the shop that had to be bolted to the floor, the installers used them to drive studs into the concrete floor. Funny, but I was daydreaming of a range trip the coming Saturday when one of the guys first fired one! Made me instinctively look down the row of shooters to see who took the shot, and all I could see was other fellow co-workers. Oh well....

Speaking of Home Depot, could you kill zombies with a nail gun? You'd want to depress the part with your finger that allows it to fire when pushed up against a piece of wood. An air compressor would be handy, too, or do they make propane activated guns? Carl

Good point, Au. At least I'm safe up here in the winter. Too cold for the cold-blooded zombies to attack. Mostly they migrate to Palm Springs in Priuses ans Volvos and Subarus and go after the vacationing Hollywood Elite.

You know it's been slow on the boards when a topic starter like that springs up.

I vote for the Enfield, preferably a Mk 5 JC.

My rationale is the highest magazine capacity, quick reloads, good short range accuracy, easy manuverabilty in close quarters, powerful cartridge, fast bolt, and reliabilty. The peep sights are also an advantage.

Bear in mind only a head shot will stop the brain-suckers, and they are slow moving, nocturnal, and attack en mass. Whereas...
