m1 talker has nailed it, and is only calling the spade for what it is. Chulai 68 likely only seemed a Liberal to some of us, because of Conservative failures
that significantly impacted his life! We all live our own specific experiences, and they make us who we are to a great extent. He wore the uniform during a
decidedly tough time, so it was our honor to have him tell us how he saw it all!!!

I will miss his posts, even (maybe especially) the ones I didn't entirely agree with....

I always admired him for what he was. He wore the uniform and served his country in combat against enemy forces. To anybody who has done that, I raise my right
hand in a salute to them. I wore two uniforms, the Navy and Army. When I was in the Navy back in 1969 I wanted to go to Viet Nam in the worse way. I even
volunteered for PBR duty in the Mekong Delta, which was a very dangerous thing at the time. But the Navy kept pulling the crap about me being the sole son of a
wartime vet and would...

Although I didn't always agree with Chulai's viewpoints, he was a stand up guy. We corresponded from time to time offline from this forum. His passing
shows how you can never know what God has in store for you. A guy survives combat in his youth and dies 40 years later because another motorist ran a stop
sign....it's hard to understand. Rest in peace Rick Carleton.
