My wife just returned from West Virginia with a new bundle of fur (she surprised me a bit)...eight weeks old, just a tyke at 8 weeks, light tan...a beautiful
Golden Retriever. This poor dog has got to try to fill the paws of Dex, the 13-year-old Golden we lost in the fall (no, it has not been a good year!). Dex
never barked, bit, chewed, and had kidneys of iron....was happy just to be near you....never saw a better dog in my life, and my father was a vet!

Here's the question- I...

You do realize that you have to post up a photo! I'm between dogs right now myself. My English Setter decided that he's prefer to hunt 100% of the
time rather than enjoy being part housedog so he's now living with a fella who hunts 3 days a week and owns a pheasent farm. I'm sure that pup thinks
he's died and gone to Heaven. I'm thinking about a Golden or a Lab but am leaning hard toward a Golden. We'd all love to see a cute photo.

I like it and think Ruger would work well as a dogs name. I have a cat named Mauser and that works just great! He doesn't come to his name just as good as
he wouldn't come to any other I might think up!!
I think it might be best if you avoid using Mannlicher for his name though!!! <img...

Yup, works for me, a good name. Tell the wife you're not naming him after a gun but an American hero, Bill Ruger. Maybe it'll go over better that way.
