My question is if this is considered an excessively pressured round for the M/96 action? I know the .308 Winchester is hotter than the 6.5X55, but am just wondering what the consensus is on the safety of this conversion. I seem to recall reading here or perhaps in Crown Jewels that the 96 actions were rated for 60,000 foot pounds of energy, but may be off in my recollection.
I realize that the Swedes modified some into .762 NATO, but am not sure if .308 would be considered safe in these old actions these days. THANKS FOR ANY INPUT .
