I recently purchased this k98. This stock is the original finish but it must have sat in a wet basement for years. The bottom half of the butt is
discolored and dried out from the moisture. How can I fix this without refinishing the whole stock. I know it probably will never match perfectly, but I would
like it to look a little better than this. I appreciate any help; Thanks
Brad

) Rome gives some good advice. Here's some pics of a Winchester 1897 shotgun
a buddy of mine had. I didn't do quite seemlessly on blending the colors, but I was trying to repair the crack and stain ion the repair piece all while
trying to preserve the character of the stock.
