With the administration changing in the future we may see (God forbid) another AWB passed through the Congress and sighned into law by a then acting President. The guns I have to sell would all fit into that ban as they all have the evil features. For instance Colt AR15 Match-HB, STG58 on Imbel reciever, Federal Ordnance M1A, Yugo Ak47 underfolder and a ORF 1919a6. I don't think it's wrong to want to realize the best price on an item you have. The worst than can happen is that a new ban would prohibit transfer of whatever they decide to classify assault weapons. And if that's the case, you can always use them for the 2nd ammendment's intended purpose. But, I'm not all gloom and doom. Even if a Communist, I mean democrat, is elected, I don't expect for a ban to be emminent. The libs took a beating last time it happened, so I don't think Billary will have a bunch of support jumping on that train. Keep the rifles and enjoy them. Take them out and put a few rounds through them, it will remind you why you bought them!

Regardless of the politics involved, money is becoming worth less fast, so even if you may get more dollars for them later, will those dollars be worth as much as what you can get now? Selling now also avoids the political uncertainties of the future.

They are guns that just don't get shot and if I was being honest with myself I don't think I would miss too much. Except the M1A which I am already having second thoughts about. I'm starting to lean with what most of you say that if i'm going to sell I might as well do it. I don't have anything that i'm looking to purchase with the funds. I guess i'm just getting old and making excuses not to get out and shoot them and know that they are meant to be shoot and enjoyed if not by me than someone else. Robert

Politics in this country are focused on other issues so far as I can see at least for now. Hillary just got trounced in SC. The Democrats regained control of Congress in 2006 because the American people wanted a change. Maybe we got the same old dog with a new collar, probably too early to tell. The new members of the Democratic Congress and Senate are more conservative on many issues including gun control I don't recall any radical left wing agenda with anti-gun legislation going anywhere in the last year. Despite his goofy "scream" in the 2004 primaries Howard Dean, the chairman of the Democratic party has made it clear to the Dems. that if they continued to be on the wrong side of the gun issue they would never be in the majority party again. He was after all the Governor of Vermont, remember where Century Arms is located? Sell when it is to your advantage. I don't want my response to set off a fire storm of political rhetoric. I like this site just because people are civil. I have never lived in a state where 2nd amendment issues were under challenge. As they say, in America we can always vote with our feet. Unless you're planning on arming the neighborhood for an invasion? I have many rifles that I would gladly part with for reasonable prices but don't know how to do this easily. Ideas? Thought about it for decades. Taking them to gun shows is a PITA and not the answer unless you like sitting behind a table listening to brainless comments about 'cheep huntin' rafles' from rednecks. It is inexpensive to list them, and if they sell, their commision is minimal. Although you might encounter alot of competition if you are selling a common rifle, you are also getting maximum exposure as far as numbers of potential buyers. Since they relist at no additional cost if they don't sell during the first auction period, you can just sit back and see what happens. I am in the same situation as far as having several rifles I have been wanting to sell, but have been too lazy to take pictures and list them. I procrastinate like it's a virtue. Armed Infidel

Your letting things from the media upset you! The future is allways uncertain. Our cause has made great gains in the last few years,and they are not going to go away overnight! Best thing to do is lube,oil,grease,these rifles and put them in storage.They are not eating any thing,and it will give you time to reconsider about getting rid of them. Give it say,four months.If you still want to sell them,fine.But in the mean time,sit tight and see how things go.

But that's the easy part. After a sale, I would have to go somewhere and buy boxes, wrap the guns in paper, take the box to the UPS store, which is far from where I live. And it would not be as if I could take 20 boxes at a time to UPS but I'd probably run the road ragged with one at a time given all I want to sell. I'm not lazy but this seems like a lot of work. Could have saved all those old shipping boxes but I would have needed another garage to store them. Maybe I'll have a yard sale with a hot dog stand. 'Git yer red hots and Mosin Nagants'.

That Black Senator comes to mind. There are a lot of persons who will never vote for a black person for president, not just southerners.I am not trying to insult southerners, my wife is from NC. i love the south, but truth is truth, if he wins the nomination he will never be elected.

I didn't get all in a tizzie when the AWB was passed and a lot of folks were certain the sky was falling. In fact, I think it only made me shoot my Chinese AK-47S and Colt AR-15 HBAR all the more, which were the only "pre-ban" weapons I owned at the time. (I've since added numerous other "assault weapons" to the collection.) Even if the pukes on the Hill passed an outright ban, they'd never get the Federal funding approved to actually make it work. I mean, c'mon... going around and rounding up millions of firearms isn't cheap. And just look to our neighbors to the north... the Canadians' feeble attempt at complete registration has been a dismal faliure, not for lack of effort on their gungrabbers' part, but simply because it's horribly more expensive to enforce something like that than it is to simply pass the law. And with the economy going straight into the turd bucket (if you believe those headlines, too) and the planet surely on the verge of complete destruction (again, if you believe those headlines as well), I seriously doubt there's any funding in the coffers to take our guns away. If you want to be worried about something more serious, you should be fretting over the cost of surplus ammo nowadays. $80 for 440 rounds of Hungarian LPS 7.62x54R? @#$%^&!@ I remember not too long ago when $80 would get you two spam cans of the stuff delivered. And don't even get me started on 7.62 NATO, 5.56 NATO, and M2 ball. Man... I knew I should have bought a few 10s of thousands of rounds of the stuff when I could. Gah! Stevens Model 56 Buck Horn (clip fed target/22 cal.), a Model 514 Remington (single shot/22 cal.), an O. F. Mossberg & Sons Model 352KB (clip fed with flip down fore end/22 cal.), an M-48 Yugoslavian (matching and nearly perfect), and maybe a Remington 510-P (single shot/22 cal.), along with a CZ-50 handgun (32 auto) with holster and extra mag. All of these are in first rate condition but it might be the only way for me to get an M1-A. So I can somewhat relate to the situation. It would really hurt to part with the German target rifle but I've had people interested in the Erma starting at five hundred dollars (or more) and that is one third of the way toward getting an M-1A. I recently sold off an unfired Russian Mak with adjustable rear sights and that help me put together the money to buy a new Dell notebook for work/play so I have felt some pain already.
