6.5 X 55 WOODEN BULLET AMMO |
Lead | |
|
I've recently acquired some Swedish wooden bullet ammo with the intention of pulling the bullet, dumping the powder and recharging with a regular powder
load and projectile.
Anyone tried this? Anyone see any problems with this? |

This has been done by quite a few guys trying to pinch a penny and I haven't read a bad post about the practice. It has been mentioned that you need to be
gentle with the wooden bullets as they will break if forced. Good luck...Jim

The best way I have found to pull the wooden bullets is to place the cartridge in your 6.5x55 shell holder in you press. Without a die screwed into the
press you can now raise the cartridge up through the hole the die screws into. Just grasp the wooden bullet with a pair of pliers and push up on the reloading
press lever and the wooden bullet will pull out of the case as the pliers contact the top of the press. With some practice it becomes very easy although some
wooden bullets seem to be crimped a bit tighter then others.
