OT- I feel a road trip coming on! Pics now posted! |
Lead | |
|
65 degrees in February! One guy finds 4 Finn's at one show! I am running out of firewood and patience waiting for summer! I have this strange craving for
new Finn Mosins! I have to make a road trip! I need some new Mosins in my clammy winter paws! Gas is actually down to $3.03 a gallon! AAAAAAAARRRRGGGGHHH!
I'm outta here guard your honey holes it is officially Road Trip Time! West yes West that is it! Maybe 1,000 miles or so will be enough one way that is?
Course it will be cold maybe I'll go south instead? Decisions Decisions! Retired Life is sure tough to take! I'm off as soon as I pack lots of empty
rifle cases and packages of Ramadan Noodles for the trip home! Bill

This time of the year is the worst time to be out on the roads in this part of the country. In fact, the Idaho State Patrol last week was telling people to
stay off the highways unless it was an emergency. If you wind up in the ditch, you may be stuck there for over a day, as the tow trucks are swamped with calls.

created a Finn vacuum from E-town to Cairo,Illinois. I was thinking about going to a show in Evansville but why bother...all the good stuff will be
"bunkerized" by noon. I hear North Carolina is nice this time of year!

Picturing Zeebill sliding down that muddy hill, landing in that pickup truck and singing " Oh Obama, you ain't got nothing on me, I am going to
______, with a Mosin on my knee"

There's only a partial vacuum in Northern Alabama. Larry's had two SkY M39's last time I checked, but they were really rough and he wanted $400 a
piece.
There are no M91's, 27's or 28's around here though. |

Wow What a Day! Better stop for awhile! Big river there! Hey The Mississippi River! Knew I made a wrong turn this morning! Dang where to now? Well a bit South
for warmth I guess!
Bill With a new Mosin soon to be on my knee!

Oh crap, we've officially lost containment of the zeebill! It was all fun and games until it got out of hand like this.
If he gets across the river there's no telling where he might turn up... Embrace the cold, zeebill, follow that big river North, into the untamed wilds of the Minnesota Mosin Mafia Territories -- I keep seeing guys from up there posting pictures of all kinds of wonderful stuff! |

Gads I went north this morning and checked a couple of small town rifle shops to no avail. Rats this snow is getting deeper! Got to go south in the morning for
sure! Still smell Mosins though? Smell slightly Finnish too! Mummmm Yum Yum Mosins for breakfast! I can see them now all in rows on racks of some sort? Must be
hallucinating or something? Maybe in the AM it will be clearer? Bill

RIA they caught me in the act! Did you guys know mosins are cheaper by the dozen? I have about 500+ pounds of them I am heading home with! No Harley for me
this summer I guess. Bunch of great guys came up and cheered me on, or maybe egged me on? I missed one out of ten lots I wanted but it was the expendable one.
Now I got to head home see other post for more info! Later next week I will try and update you guys! Bill

Wow Bill, when you go hunting you really bring home the bacon! 500+ lbs of Mosins must be 50-60 rifles! You have the equivalent effect of the
Mosin-Atomic-Bomb..... are you "Fat Man" or "Little Boy"??
![]() Northern Illinois is a huge crater now.....

You have been peaking again, alas I am Fat Man! 712 miles in 11 3/4 hours with three stops for food and gas and at times a 40MPH crosswind. 54 rifles to be
exact! Not all Mosins later in the week I will give a run down maybe even pictures if I can convince Chuck to come and bring the camera. Hope it gets warmer,
12 now! Drove all those miles and fought that wind with that truck handling really evil and saw nothing but stars and sun right. 1/2 hour after I get home the
front lawn is covered with snow and all the local schools are 2 hours late already! Talk about being Lucky!
Like I have always said I would rather be lucky than good any day! Night John
Boy I am dead tired! Bill
