I was referred to this forum from a buddy of mine over at the \SKS Boards. To get to the point, I got a 8mm turk with no bolt. Got a Hell of a deal on it (free) but without a bolt...no boom. I have gone to all the part sites I know and they are all sold out (not to mention, WAY overpriced). If anyone here knows where I can find one (or wants to sell me one of their spares) I would be greatly indebted to you. Any help is much appreciated. Not sure about the model, here are some pics for possible identification. Also, I can check headspace on my own, no worries. All other parts are matching. I bought an Enfield MKIII from the guy, so the Turk has to share the spot-light in this post. Thanks again in advance!

There are some folks that don't venture up past the WTS/WTB forums. I need a bolt and a few other pieces to get a stocked, barreled receiver back into action here, but I'm hoping to stike gold at a show in the near future.

A Czech CZ 98/22 bolt would work, as would a CZ Model 24 bolt, or a 1909 Argentine bolt as well. Rick Reich advertises them for around $28.00 shipped. The CZ 98/22 bolt would be the most "correct", since the Turks also purchased and used CZ 98/22 rifles, and ocassionally got the bolts mixed up with their own K.Kale rifles. If so, you will also find everything you need for the MkIII to put her back in proper condition from Russell at Springfield Sporters.

However, the eyelet in the butt of the stock is standard K KALE, and not the type found on Turks with K98 receivers. Perhaps its got a few mixed parts. Does it have a 1954 date on the receiver or a thirties date on the receiver bridge? If so, it's a K98 receiver, which is indicative of nothing as far as that bolt you're trying to find, since both styles use the standard length bolt -- just curious.

BTW, awesome sight you have here, I have done a lot of reading and there is some great info on these fine rifles. After reading all the replies, I have to look at it again...I will snap some more detailed pictures and check for additional markings today when I get home from work to help confirm. To be honest, I don't recall seeing any K.Kale markings on the receiver, but I could be wrong. The rear sight & receiver are both matching, I don't see a SN on the TG, so it is possible that it has been switched out. Sorry for not providing enough initial information to get a clear diagnosis. Just haven't had a chance yet to get some good pictures taken/uploaded. Very n00b of me. I guess I need to know exactly which model it is before I can shop for the right bolt. The one I saw at e-gunparts was $109 and I almost crapped myself. $29 is a lot more feasible. I am also interested in getting the correct sling and all other accessories to complete it. (Oil can, ammo pouch, etc.). Again, thank you all and I will post those pictures later today.

I still do not see the "K Kale" marking anywhere. I do see "ANK ARA" and it appears that the "7" in "1947" was not the original date stamped. I know these were rearsenaled for the Turks, I am guessing they restamped it with the new year when it was done. Again guessing that the original year of manufacter was 194_ . Like I said before, the rear sight and receiver both match (253**). However I did see a different number stamped on the trigger group (5409) which does not correspond to the five digit number on the receiver. It should still be a "standard" length M98-type action, and all of the bolts I mentioned in my previous post should work and function (be sure to verify headspace with a FIELD gage), however a Turkish-marked, Imperial German GEW-98 bolt would be the most "correct" as a replacement. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- What part of "shall not be infringed" don't you understand?
