This is a long shot so I am going to ask for assistance here. I recently acquired a DSM34 and found a correct stock for it, now I need a safety for a JGA Thuringen Mauser this is a German 22 long rifle trainer which was built in the 30's. I am restoring it and am on the hunt for missing parts. Additionally I will be looking for the rear band. This is the one that goes around behind the rear sight. The moon clip shaped band. I would prefer not to have to mill a standard safety to fit it for obvious reasons. I do not know a lot about these rifles yet so if I am wording things wrong please let me know. I appreciate any assistance with this.

Does anyone know if it is possible to mill a standard k98 or mauser safety to fit? They appear to be the same from photos. I have been unable to locate a trainer one obviously to compare..

A poster over on the GunBoards for sale forum had some reproduction handguard retainers for sale within the last 3 months or so. I think that is what you are calling a rear band? It holds the rear of the handguard under the rear sight. I tried searches but can't come up with the ad. You might spread the word over there. I don't see any practical way to mill down a full size safety, . good luck with your search, mw

hi you can get the hand guard retainer from out back gun parts, they are NOT OIRGINAL, will need some fitting, have 4 bolts & two broken safetys spairs, not for sale, i have a tu kkw very very good shooter, looking for another. bill.

hi its been about four years since i switch my collection, two dsm, most are mausers, have a of mixed ser, munbers, may weed them out? have seven all matching, been geting parts rebuilt, extractors & safetys, have some bolt bodys, need bolt parts, thanks for leting me bend your ear
