It has not lost any bluing, apparently the reciever, etc, are polished, and it has been rebored to .308 by NATO. Anyone know if the rounds are standard .308, or NATO .308? (I would assume NATO, which kind of sucks, cause they are getting harder to find...) But what a deal!!!!!

Although both rounds are dimensionally close enough to be interchangeable, the .308 is sometimes loaded with considerably more power than 7.62 NATO.

Higher pressure may not be as comfortable but will not matter to that gun safety wise. US 308 Winchester is not lower pressure than NATO 30 cal that is 8MM Mauser that is lower because of the older 318 bored guns that US ammo makers are afraid someone will shoot their 323 8MM ammo in and blow it up. I have been told some of these were converted with U.S. surplus 03-A3 barrels. I have had a couple of them through the years and they were excellent shooters. Mine were two groove. And yes, I used commercial .308 ammo, as well as 7.62 Nato ammo. As for rarity, I don't know. There was quite a large importation about ten or years ago into this country. I sold my last one in the fall for around $250. Kevin in Or.
