My guess is that your license expires on 06 July 2008... that the new license was mailed so you would have it thirty days before the other one expired. This
was true in my case that the new license came exactly thirty days before the other one expired.

Wow, I sent in my third renewal back in July and my C&R does not expire until October 8. I do not recall my first two renewals taking so long. I guess it
really doesn't matter anyway, does it?

I sent in for my second renewal around May 14th. Two weeks later they requested I fill out a "Proof of Citizenship" form. (I had included a completed
"Proof of Citizenship" form with my application). I sent the requested form in a couple of days later and haven't heard from them since. I did
try to call once a month ago but went to voice mail and have heard no response. I imagine I should be calling them repeatedly I get some reply but I've
been a bit busy and too lazy to really pursue the matter. Usually by the time I get around to having time during a workday to make the call its past hours at
the ATF offices. However, I'm beginning to get a bit perturbed about the delay. I've passed up a couple of purchases because of the lack.
I have a bit of a hard time believing it will do any good to start harassing them. P.S. The payment was cashed before I received the request at the two week mark. |

Situation Update: Its in the mail. | ||
|
Since I whined about the renewal delay yesterday its only fair that I give an update on the action today.
I called the ATF again this morning and left another message. I just got off the phone from the call back and was told the license was sent out today. There was no explanation for the delay but I imagine that sucker was lost on somebody's desk somewhere in Atlanta. The interesting thing was that my call had actually been directed to somewhere in Virginia, not Georgia. The woman who called back was in Virginia but had called my district representative in Atlanta and got some action. (I hope) We'll see if the license shows up next week. Right now, I'm hopeful! |

I sent in my renewal in March for my license which expired in May. Before I know it, June rolls around and no license. I called the ATF to find out what's
going on and the person I spoke to who was handling my license said that she was about 3 months behind. From the sound of her voice I thought she was going to
start to cry. She said that she would send out a LOA which she did, but I'm still waiting on my license!!

Further Update: I did indeed receive my license the Wednesday following the Friday I last posted. I wonder if grandpassage and I have the same agent. I'd
heard mine was new and running behind as well. Hopefully a little experience will allow her to get caught up and stay that way, for both her sake the the sake
of our licenses.
