I have a guy at work pinging me for it, so no... I am not trying to drum up a sale here. I already have 4 others that are keepers (correct HRA, IHC, built NM, and a 90% 575K SA). The only thing is this one is a 49K receiver with a 2-44 barrel. Everything else is mix master. I built this to give to a buddy in Iraq and just heard he isnt really all that interested in it. He wants a black rifle. His loss. My question, would you sell it??? I have reservations being a 5 digit, but I need another M1 like a hole in the head. I dont know... someone talk me out of it. :-)

But, with it being a re-barreled mixmaster, the 49K s/n doesn't mean a lot, at least to me. (s/n 49,xxx should have a 7-40 barrel) A few years ago, I sold a similar mixmaster with a 38K s/n, because it just didn't "speak" to me. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- What part of "shall not be infringed" don't you understand? Don't do it - I have sold rifles in the past and regretted it - never again. I only buy what I really want these days and hang on to them. There must be other ways to raise the revenue you need.

In time it will be worth more and nice examples will be harder to come by. In the last couple years alone more and more of the M1's I see in the shops, shows, etc. are seriously overpriced for their worn out condition. A solid service grade M1 should be held onto as best as possible. They really are not making anymore (at least with history behind them). I think the wartime replacement barrel adds a huge cool factor. Odds are really good that rifle went somewhere and did something. Semper Fi, Rob

Yes, the original barrel that was on it was totally shot out (SA 8-48) so the way I look at it, this thing is on around its fourth barrel... gas trap, converted from gastrap, 8-48 rebuild, and now the new one I put on it. I really dont need the $$, but I DO need a bigger safe. Especially now I have another M1. I guess my 59/66 gets the boot to the closet. There are several I am kicking myself for selling over the yearsdue to finances or just sheer boredom, SVT40's, Hakim, P14, Turks, Nagants, Finns, G88, more Finns, M1, carbines, Colts, AR's.... oh well. Other people are enjoying them now I hope. This one got a reprieve. But if it doesnt shoot.... outta here :-)

Mine will be selected based on how well she can shoot. I want one that can hold a moa at one hundred yards so I might have to go M1A.
