Someone tried to make a turned down butterknife looking bolt handle. What attracted me to this thing in amongst the piles of junk on this table was the bolt head and extractor that I need for another 1888. Now I need to decide on what to do with the rest of the parts. The reciever is marked C.G Hanel, Suhl, 1896, Germany and marked Kar 88 on the side which I'm assuming is a commercial model not worth very much historically nor really collectable. Is there a barrel available for this thing anywhere? Do I try to build a rifle out of this (and what did it look like when it left Mr Hanel's shop in 1896?) or do I take the bolt head and extractor and consign the rest to my own table full of junk at the next gunshow?
