Any thoughts or reports on these? I bought a Century receiver years ago and it was pretty crude finish wise. Was holding out for a Spikes Tactical due to the ability to get a custom serial and engraving for free, but this popped up decent priced and .01 shipping from Aim. Spikes are VERRRRRRRYYYY nice, might still get one anyway :-) Any thoughts anyone? What is the RDIAS/RLL compliant stand for?? Still tossed up between a varminter build or a M4 clone. Here is AIM's description: New CMMG MOD4SA AR15 .223/5.56x45 Stripped Lower Receiver. This high quality lower receiver is mil-spec and uses standard take-down and fire control pins. Receiver is mil-spec hard coat anodized aircraft grade 7075 T6 aluminum and is teflon coated for added durability and color consistency. RDIAS/RLL compatible. 113 + .01 shipping. I don't think you'll be disappointed. The RDIAZ/RLL compliance refer to full-auto devices, I know the RLL is for a Registered Lightning Link, I cannot remember what RDIAZ stands for. Essentially they are drop-in devices that will allow full-auto and select-fire operation of AR-15s. There are some transferable units out there, but go for about $6-10K last I heard.

Maybe avoid Hesse, Vulcan, and perhaps Olympic. Other than that buy the design you like best.

The way my luck runs when I do a spur of the moment thing, I usually take it in the shorts. And honestly... My Olympic A3 HBar was my favorite AR I've ever owned. Excellent fit and finish and out shot my bushmaster. Darn nice rifle. Regret selling that one. Thanks for the info Tep. Should be a fun winter afternoon project.

It was VERY tight-spec and required some fitting to get the hammer working right. The mag well was also tight enough that most mags would not drop free. The AR I built using it was perfectly functional and never gave me problems, those two issues were just annoyances. Its still enough that I'd look elsewhere for my next stripped lower.

I have Olympic, CMMG, and Rock River (I think that's all??? - have to go look later) and the finish on the CMMG feels slicker than the others. Makes it easier to clean up. I like it and will have to get one of their uppers to match. PIC: CMMG is in the middle - the lower has a different shine to it but it still goes BANG!

I had my heart set on building a black rifle but instead I spent my money on a six digit, 1942 dated, Springfield U.S. Rifle .30 cal. M1 Rifle.
