What threads are used on Polish M44 cleaning rods |
Lead | |
|
Having trouble finding a rod for my Polish M44. All the "out of the case" Polish M44's I've seen had cleaning rods that were "in the
white". Tried to screw a Russian blued M44 rod in and it won't fit. Seems the Russian rod has a larger thread diameter. Why would the Poles use a
different thread??
Thanks for your help. |

Russian M44 cleaning rods are the same size and threading as Polish. Only 2 things come to mine on this: either the threading on the Russian cleaning rod is
damaged, or something is clogging the hole in the cleaning rod nut in the Polish stock. This is a problem that is often encountered with Mosins, and the
problem is usually cosmoline, dirt, little fragments of wood, etc. packed into the cleaning rod nut.
