Released in 2007 starring Brad Pitt. Almost told in documentary style about the end of Jesse James by his supposed friend Bob Ford and the months leading up to it. It is a long film, gritty, and as I mentioned almost seems like a documentary and not a movie. It would help to do some research into "Bleeding Kansas", the border raids during the civil war, Quantrill's Raiders and Bloody Bill Anderson's gang to get some background on what is going on. A lot of folks in the region who were southern sympathizers looked upon Jesse James as kind of a Robin Hood and didn't take kindly to Ford shooting him in the back. Ford's end eventually reflected on how he was regarded after the assasination.
