After years of debating on whether to spend the money, and trying to find one when I did have the funds, I FINALLY got a PTR-91 this weekend. Talk about
agonizing. I came into some cash that would cover about half the price. Checked with the only local store that I know has carried them in the past. On
Thursday they did not have one, but expected one in on Friday. Friday afternoon I called and it had indeed come in. I was there when the store opened at 9 AM
Saturday. Took about 90 seconds to look it over and started the paperwork. While I was waiting for the insta-check to be approved, another guy comes in the
shop wanting to buy the piece. Guess timing IS everything.
Up to the last minute I debated on spending the funds or not. Everyone speculates that they will be harder to come by with every passing day. And these have not been that easy to find in the past. At least I have had difficulty. Another shop in the area has the PTR-91KF with the 16" barrel, but I really did not want the shorter barrel in 7.62. Just me, I suppose. Anyway, mine it the garden variety 91F with 18" barrel. I'll try to post pics in the future.
