I found in a shop, but didn't buy (yet), a 1914 mauser pistol, 7.65. It's in about 70% condition. What's unusual about it is that on the left side
of the slide, above the "Waffenfabrik" marking, is the date 1920, in the same font as the double dated post-WWI Gewehr 98's. Were some handguns
subject to the same post-war rules?
Another interesting change is a flat area ground on the curve of the slide and then stamped with a Norwegian police ID and serial number. The same number is stamped near the muzzle, under beneath the original serial.
Is this variation worth $350? That doesn't seem a lot higher than most of these go for on the auction sites.
