These things are just too easy to assemble! Here's the specs: Rock River lower (I picked it up at the National Matches a couple of years ago, it was marked down at the RRA store because it was blemished, heck if I can find anything wrong with it) CMMG lower parts kit, stock single stage trigger No-name M4 stock Sherluk built upper assembly, 1 in 9 twist Wilson barrel with a chrome lined chamber and bore. The upper and barrel have M4 feed ramps. I'll let the pictures tell the rest of the story: I can't to get it out to the range. Matt

I bought it from their table at the Medina gun show a couple of weekends ago. It cost me $475 OTD, complete with BCG. The BUIS was another $60. I normally wouldn't buy an upper from a gun show, 'cause you never know what your're gonna get. But, Sherluk has a decent reputation and I've been buying from them for several years now, and I talked to the owner at the show and he knew what he was talking about. I have only 2 complaints... The bolts that hold the gas key onto the bolt carrier are supposed to be staked in place. The ones on this bolt carrier are staked, but very lightly and not done per the MIL standard. That's no biggie for me 'cause I can simply stake them myself at home. Second gripe is that the flash hider isn't perfectly clocked. It's about 5 - 10 degrees off. It's not a big issue, but it is enough to annoy me. Luckily I have the stuff to fix that as well. On the plus side, it's a Cerro Forge upper with anodized M4 feed ramps. The barrel was made from a Wilson blank and it is chrome lined. It's a 1 in 9 twist, but that's ok because I'm not likely to fire anything larger than 69 grain bullets through it. I took it to the range last weekend and beat it pretty good to make sure it all works. I fed it 100 rounds, the last 40 or so were pretty fast (not like a mag dump, but as fast as I could pop off aimed shots). It didn't have a single issue. Not one stoppage in its first 100 rounds of firing. Also, once I had it sighted in, at 50 yards I fired a 5 shot group that you can cover with a quarter. A quarter is a little over an inch in diameter, so at 50 yards that's a little over 2 MOA. For a carbine with a 16" barrel and no special accurizing, that's pretty impressive in my book. Now I want to build an M16A1 clone. The first AR-15 type weapon I ever handled was the M16A1. We used them for qualification and field training in ROTC. The M16A2 has it's advantages (and that is what I use for service rifle competition), but for some reason I love the simplicity of those old A1's. Matt

I haven't had one come loose yet either. With the carbine stock, you just have to tighten the lock nut enough. On the fixed stock, there is a little plate with an indention that keeps it from turning.
