For sight unseen/ internet purposes, you are not gambling with Empire Arms. I have bought some RC's, CZ-52, yugo 59-66, MO 91/30, and some others... Read the rules/ reload the Mag., before hand. Then pull the trigger on your purchase. You will need to be a "sniper" on his or Allens "new list". Scored a few nice ones also from Allen S., @ odd times of the night. No complaints, no advertisement, just my truth in dealing with these guys.

I know this is an old thread... but I feel compelled to write my two cents.
I'm sure there are folks out there who've bought a lot more from Dennis than I have (I've got 9 gems from Dennis since October of 2003) but I'd like to be included with the group of loyal and repeat customers. No business gets customers like that without good reason. Yes, some of Empire's prices are higher than what you'll find at place like AIM, Century, IO, and the like, but I'm willing to bet you won't find 80% of what Dennis sells at places like that. I certainly don't find things like Dennis sells at local gunshows. Arsenal refurbed 91/30s and RC K98s are everywhere. How about Swedes, Finns, SVTs, G98s, and all sorts of other rare or rare-ish milsurps? Empire's selection is awesome. That's the first point. The second point is the quality and service from Empire. Nothing I've ordered from Dennis has disappointed me -- his desciptions are spot on and backed up by (in the vast majority cases) individual photos. You know exactly what you're getting every time. You can't say that about the other mass sellers out there. On the service side, Dennis can't be beat. I ordered an M27 (or was it an M28?) from Dennis and he misplaced the nosecap bolt while disassembling the gun. Dennis knocked $25 off the price and said he'd send me the bolt if he located it. He hasn't found the bolt yet, but I had a spare on hand so it was no biggie. Yet he still shaved the money off the price. That was a great touch. As far as the difficulty of ordering... hmm. How hard is it to send an e-mail saying "I'll take it!" with the first half of your credit card number and then a second e-mail with the last half of the number? When those New Stuff lists come out and I see something I want, I simply cut and paste the desciption from the list directly into an e-mail with a note saying "I'll take it!", enter my address info, note that my C&R is on file, enter the first half of my CC number, then hit send. I quickly follow it up with a second message including the rest of my CC info. Seriously, it takes all of 10 seconds to get that first e-mail sent off. It's not rocket science. True, the folks who see the New Stuff lists first tend to get their choices, but that's all about timing. Dennis sends those lists out at different times of the day each time to help spread the wealth, so to speak, so you can't really complain about the process. If you're not subscribed to the New Stuff lists, then you're definitely missing out. Heck, even those times when I don't have the money to buy something I still like to look the lists over since there's almost always something on there that makes me drool a wee bit. Dennis, Desiree, and Empire Arms rock. No two ways about it. Cheers, ~ Greg ~ "War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse." -- John Stuart Mill

I have dealt with Empire Arms since 1997. In my opinion, Dennis Kroh is an honest man who deals with his customers fairly. His descriptions are up-front, and I have never heard of him concealing anything. His prices are a little above the norm, but I have always considered the extra premium worthwhile in exchange for Dennis's excellent eye and knowledge. In general, the stuff he sells is well above average in condition and availability; he doesn't sell junk.
As one who has bought probably a dozen guns from Empire over the years, I can totally vouch for Empire's integrity, efficiency, and quality stock. Now, that's not to say Dennis can't be a trifle curmudgeonly from time to time. If you attempt to impose on his NASCAR routine, he can get a little short. And he doesn't suffer fools gladly. (Not newbies -- he's pretty kind to them. I mean FOOLS!) |

Re: Empire Arms | ||

Guys, when this thread was first posted we had just purchased fifty-five (55) Swedish Mausers from the estate of a deceased collector, most of which we listed on a "New Stuff" page to our mailing-list.
We VERY QUICKLY (within a couple of days) sold over fifty of those rifles and currently only have *ONE* Swedish mauser remaining from that batch. We do continue to purchase military rifles (including Swedish Mausers) "sight-seen" on a weekly basis, but they never (ever) last very long. We are NOT in business to have items for sale, our goal is to actually *SELL* those items and use the money we obtain for them to purchase other items (which we hope to quickly sell also). Thank you for your patronage. . . I hope our love of NASCAR does not interfere with our ability to offer you neat items at fair prices. |

Sorry Dennis your NASCAR habit does interfere with my collecting as when you're at a race you're not finding new guns to buy

I know this is an old thread but had to jump in with my $0.02. I recently purchased the pictured rifle from Dennis at Empire Arms. I only had one Swede, a M38
I purchased a number of years ago. I wanted to add a M96. I did some research and poured over the auction sites and the offerings that were posted there. A lot
of guns to choose from and have purchased off the sites before. To be sure I have had way more successes than failures on auction sites. But I have been
disappointed. I checked out Empire Arms because I have purchased a number of guns from Dennis in the past. He has always exceeded my expectations. I had a
limited budget because I am just a poor old truck driver and I wanted to get it right. Dennis had a nice selection in the category that I wanted and I know his
descriptions are always accurate if not understated. I shot off the required emails and took the plunge. The rifle arrived last last week. Again, better than I
expected. Probably could have saved $25 or $50 on an auction but I didn't need the drama. I have found in my experience that Empire Arms has good
selections to chose from, accurate descriptions and excellent customer service. Sorry if this sounds like an add but it is just my humble opinion based on my
experience.

I'm going to deal with Dennis in January I emailed him two weeks ago and we agreed that I can send him a MO or bank check for the rifle I'll pick out
the rifle on his site and email him He'll send me price + tax and shipping fees and I'll send that amount. He prefers to close deal quickly and
that's ok with me Also to 318dodge I got stung but good when I first started out,and I learned quickly when I go into a local FFL I usually have my bore
light, magnifying glass and literature about what I want.I never walk in cold. the same goes for a gun show, plus there I usually carry my take it or leave it
attitude. You really can't pull that nonsense on the internet or at the local FFL,but sometimes it works at these gun shows. Some of them are there to make a
profit any way they can

Send him a copy of your C & R or FFL.
When you see a gun you want, email half the cc number to that one email addie and email the other half to that other email addie he has. You'll get the gun. Ya, he's high, but a year later I guarantee you'll be glad you went ahead and got it. I've gotten 2 rifles from him and wish I had gotten a few more.....once the wrong one was sent, but he was quick to fix that. hsc |
