First of all hello everyone. I've been lurking here for a while learning about Enfields before I purchased this beauty. This rifle just came out of the
mummy wrap. I found her in an old mill country store here in Virginia which by the way had some of the best BBQ I ever had. Anyway the owner bought it from
some one locally and took it out of the wrap and cleaned it up. She also came with a bayonet but he misplaced it and is going to try and find it for me. I
really wanted the rifle as a shooter but after doing a lot of reading on this site and others I wonder if she would be better off in the hands of a collector
and I could pick up a nice old functional one just to shoot. OR if they really aren't that collectable then I'll just get some ammo and fire away, what
do you all think?

Lots of markings on the rifle. This F54 marking has got to be located in 5 or six different places. I understand that to mean Fazarkely 1954. I don't know what the '23' means though
This one is interesting. It's hard to see in the picture but it looks like it says 48PB and there is like a little arrow between the 48 and the PB. This is located in three places. Anyone have those markings?
And the serial numbers
I'd love to hear any comments on this rifle. She looks brand spanking new. I can see how this can become addictive. God knows with my guitars and vintage bicycle collections I don't need another habit
