I'm a Nam vet, and shamelessly lifted my handle from a line in an anti-war song by The Fuggs (circa 1967). No, I didn't father any kids over there.
Weren't a lot of women in my neighborhood. I used it as my CB handle many moons ago.

Mine is nothing subtle : seb1899 ... S for Stephen ( when I was smaller they called me Step Hen hence I became Steve) E for Edward .. my middle name and B for
Blasdell... my last name and 1899 because when I first became an ie user 1999 was taken at most sites. So if you see seb1899 at many, many firearms sites it is
I except for Gunbroker where I am known as seb1999 'cause it was not taken!!! Except for when I bid!!!

Chief Oshkosh = indian -er, 'scuse me - native american - whose statue resides in Winnebago Park in Oshkosh, WI. There was also a Chief Oshkosh beer long
time ago. Good for "marinating" bratwurst and cleaning paint brushes but bad for drinking.

Although I REALLY like silver a lot, it doesn't really offer much advantage over good lead alloys, and it is actually sort of pedestrian as projectiles go.
You know, kind of like it's been done before and is sooooo passe!
Now gold, on the other hand, hasn't been beat to death in the media, and offers significant advantages over silver in both density and ductility. So that for the same bullet design you have about 50% greater weight and significantly better expansion, depending on the alloy you are using of course! |

Almost 40? Sheesh...has it been that long???
Life is the crummiest book I ever read, there isn't a hook; Just a lot of cheap shots, pictures to shock, and characters an amateur would never dream up... |

mrchuck |

mrchuck,,, this moniker stuck 25 to 30 years ago, when the arresting officer, yes me, put'em in the slammer.
Since then, it got passed through out the system. Once in the system, you are tagged with it forever. When the internet came about, this name for me stuck through out the 50 states. I had no choice. I am used to it now, being 70, and to old to learn something new!,,,,,mc |

qmcorps |

I'm a retired US Army Sergeant First Class and a logistician, hence, qmcorps (quartermaster corps) . The early years were as an infantryman in several mech
battalions (M113A2/A3) before I switched to a supply MOS.
amatuers study tactics, professionals study logistics. |

SCHMIDT SHOOTER |
|||
|
I just started to "get into" milsurp firearms, I have bought a 91/30 Mosin Nagant, and a k-31, the Schmidt is so odd looking it's cool amd its my
new favorite gun, so SCHMIDT SHOOTER sounded good!!

11Bravo was my MOS 23 years ago. We referred to it as 11Bulletstopper. My understanding is that it is now referred to as 11Bang!

600racer |

I used to be known to ride a Suzuki GSXR600 sportbike on road race tracks every once in a while but never really 'raced'. Just wanted to real bad.
However it was an SUV on the street that took me out permanetly with a mild brain injury. Now my hobby is recreational shooting and collecting. I just hope
Obama doesn't take that away too!

cheapshooter |

Cheapshooter says it all. I don't buy "collectables" for their value, but rather things that go BANG. I shoot all of my milsurp firearms along with non milsurp guns I own. I'm not worried about my milsurps having target accuracy. If it goes bang and something goes down range I'm happy. If it hits the target with reasonable accuracy, I'm very happy! |

Mine is really simple but may seem odd for a Yorkshire Terrier to be named Ed Novak. The guy with the glasses reads Soviet Union history to me most evenings.

flinttim.repairingyester... |

Well, the Flinttim part comes from building flintlock rifles all these many years. The add on part about "restoring yesteryear's trailer "
somehow got stuck on by Yuku when I signed onto a forum about working on old campers. The camper is done now so if anyone can tell me how to remove it, please
help.

Fighter pilots have really cool callsigns like Maverick, Ice, Hollywood, or whatever. I'm a flight test engineer and I do airdrop test from cargo planes.
Sometimes we have malfunctions with mannequins or test cargo loads - CRUNCH! My career goal is to never crunch a live person. But plain old "Crunch"
was already taken, so it's Crunch130, in honor of the C-130's I started in. I've also done a lot of work in C-17s.

Electron Don |
Re: Question about your name. | ||
|
O.K. My name is Don and I am a Physical Science Teacher. My Principal gave me the name since I was always messing with the computers and network wiring. Well
and there was that one "incident" involving a 250,000 volt power supply for neon lighting and some improvised electrodes during a demonstration.
"But I'm much better now."
