Bolt ID help needed |
Lead | |
|
Earlier this year, I picked up an RC K98k (Mauser "42" code, 1939) that appears to have a VZ24 bolt that has had the handle bent.
However, the markings on the bolt sleeve are very strange. I can make out "M 27" but after that, the characters don't even look like they are
part of the Roman alphabet (see photo). Also, the cocking on opening is very rough. Can anyone identify this bolt and suggest what can be done to smooth the
operation?
