I imagine some folks will be getting some nice milsurps for Christmas, so I'm hoping to see a bunch of entries this month, too. I'll keep this entry thread open until 6pm Central on Thursday, 1 January. As usual, here's my unofficial entry for the month - a minty 1950 Tula SKS-45: Let's see what everyone else has! Also was the bluing on the bayonet common for the 1950 models? The earliest SKS in my collection is a 1951 Tula and it has the standard firing pin and the shiny bayonet. Curt

Curt I don't think it has the spring loaded firing pin, but honestly I don't remember. The non-blued bayonets were common on the refurbs and later rifles, but I believe the earlier versions had the blued bayonets. I'm not an SKS expert, though, so I could be wrong about that. Posts: 297 (12/28/08 06:23 PM) active member More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts Report Post	Here is a shot of my original 1943-dated Inland Div. of GM M1 Cal. .30 Carbine - In the background there is a Model 1936 pistol belt with 1942-dated Model 1942 first aid pouch for the Carlisle bandage, 1943-dated M1 carbine magazine pouch, and M1 carbine cleaning kit. Also pictured is a wool field jacket commonly referred to as an "Ike Jacket" with an 8th Army patch, Tech 5 shoulder patches, and an Honorable Service discharge "ruptured duck" insignia. Tim Definately a good thing, the M1 is by far one of my most prized firearms and you have a beautiful example in that one and the photo itself is perfect imho.
