Does anyone know how common the M48B is? I have been looking on GB and have not seen any.

If you're looking for an M48 with a "B" mark on the crest, there is no such thing. The M48 B is actually marked M48A. It just has more stamped
parts than the original M48A. Reciever markings are exactly the same. There is no such thing as an M48B reciever mark.
M48's have "M48" stamped on the top of the receiver. M48's are all milled parts from the factory.

Thank you, that makes sense. It was driving me crazy looking for a B marked receiver. I really need to finish reading Branko's book.

Looking for that elusive M48B was driving all of us crazy until Branko's book came out (2005). Look on page 168 for the reference.
The easiest way to identify the M48B is the triggerguard. It has a rib going around the sides. If you'll look over the stickies on this forum, you'll find one with comparison pics. The M48B was mfg beginning in 1956 concurrent with the dedicated M48bo. From this time on all M48s were mfg for export. Keep reading and you'll find production numbers. You'll have to find that page for yourself.
