Set me back 119 bucks and the governor's cut. It had all the usual accessories (green cloth sling + leather loops, weird little oiler can, wrench, cleaning attachments and a Soviet ammo pouch dated 1955). I'd post a picture but (1) I don't know how and (2) hey--it looks like a refurbed M44; not unusual.
Seemed like a relatively inexpensive way to try out the marque. The receiver's stamped with the 1944 Izhevsk factory mark, Tula bolt; can't determine the barrel's pedigree yet. Ukrainian depot refurbed stock. Every part's stamped with a new 4-digit number. All in all, it is a fascinating weapon. This is the cool part of buying a milsurp, for me: researching its history. Can't think of a single use for the bayonet-! The action is...well, it ain't a Mauser. But I'm a happy customer.
Next gun show, I'm gonna be a little less dumb about the Nagants, and may search for a collectible one. One thing first--head for the range, if I can find some affordable ammo--
Cheers--Buzzy
