... Sergeant York is one of my all time
favorites. At least I know a few others liked the movie, Oscars for Best Actor and Best Film Editing and nominations for 9 other categories. I think you have
to consider the era the film was made, 1941, and that Hawks tried to make the film seem like it was from the WWI era to actually appreciate the movie, beyond
the heroics of York.
Another of my all time favorite "War" movies is Kelly's Heroes.
