My first No.4 Mk1* with pics. |

After reading on the forums, and asking for a good place to buy a Lee Enfield, I tried a few of them and ended up finding one on the Firearms Canada website.
Just thought I'd post it for everyones enjoyment. I only have a question about the markings on the forestock. Below the serial # it is stamped K R. Any
insight?

Very nice wood! Appears to have the Mk.2 backsight. ? Overall appearance is exceptional. Longbranch rifles are seldom a disappointment at all. Thanks for
posting. Some close-ups of the action/back-sight would be nice if you can supply them. Thanks again.

I might be taking her shooting in a few weeks and I'll have my friend take more pictures, since he's the one that took these in the first place. I also
got a No.4 mk2 bayonet, I know it technically dosn't go with the rifle, but theres something about the pig sticker bayonet that I rather enjoy.

That wood is beautiful.
You say that the forestock wood is stamped with the rifle's s/n??? That would be neat...never saw that on a LB...but I haven't had an early one.

I recieved most of the information I've gathered about the rifle from that website, a definate bookmark. In the bottom picture it shows the bottom
handguard with the service number stamped on it.
Yes, the bolt, receiver, and stamp on the forestock all match. Chimo! |

That's a very nice looking rifle! Love the figure in the wood.
When I first saw the photo I thought to myself, "Something doesn't look right." I went back and looked at it after reading the responses and confirmed that it wasn't right for some reason. I then got my No4 Mk2 out of the safe and compared them. After a few seconds I smacked myself in the head...the bolt and magazine are out of the rifle.
Again, that's a really pretty rifle! ~Hessenfesser |

Beautiful rifle! I have a Longbranch that I shoot in the military club shoots and if yours is anything like mine it will shoot like a dream. Pay close
attention to the suggestions at the top of this Forum as they will save you a lot of time and headaches. I know they helped me a lot. You will find the
knowledge of this group of Enfield Shooters to be better than any book you could buy. Ask your questions and they will bend over backwards to help you. Enjoy
that fine rifle and let us know how it shoots. Great find!
