Just recieved a passed along email which originated from the Virginia Shooting Sports Association. They cite rumors from Canadian sources which indicate our
State Dept. may be " floating " the idea of an ammo ban on certain types of ammo.

Without documental evidence to back up a claim like this, the group who started it does not have a leg to stand on. I don't care if it is from a shooting
group. We need the facts that can be proven. Like the old saying, " the facts, madam, just the facts". Anybody can start and propagate an internet
rumor, no matter how they sign themselves or what group they belong to. I do not put any belief into this rumor at this time at all. And being that it is
political in nature, I suspect a moderator will soon do away with this thread.

hmmm...
let's see - someone heard from someone else, who heard from someone who may or may not be someone in the Canadian civil service about how they heard that there may be someone in the U.S. State Department who thinks there may be an attempt to cut off imported ammunition OMG it must be true...

Good job! I agree with the others, until it is in a known bill with a House or Senate number attached to it, it is just a rumor. If it reaches that point, a post notifying everybody of the confirmed existence of the bill would be permitted, but would likely be "locked" to prevent the inevitable political discussion that will follow. Please note that the forum owner, ParallaxBill, and most if not all of us Moderators very likely share the same political views of most of the members, but there's always a few that may have a different viewpoint. I don't think that Bill objects to a dissenting view per se, but repeated experience shows that what almost always happens is, that the discussion degrades into members calling each other names or members degrading each other in worse ways. Bill will not tolerate this type of behavior, so he asks us Moderators to "nip it in the bud", as Barney Fife would say. -Bean

True, it probably is just a rumor, but........remember that Clinton stopped the importation of Chinese ammo with an executive order. Congress never got to
weigh in, so, no H.R or S. number at all. and no warning either! DM

and all present ammo illegal as well as handloading your own.

This is about as true as primers that are only good for 6 months. Another internet rumor. Both are urban / internet legends that have no truth.
