I wiped off all the mildew that I could find with a drier sheet and hung it up in the gun room. Over a month later; no mildew has appeared. It works. Don't know why.

The old woman at the shoe repair shop, who told me about it seemed convinced. It has worked well for me, so far, on old leather slings. I have had mixed results on old leather ammo pouches. The mildew seems to return on the European pigskin ones after awhile. Armed Infidel

I had mildew on some US slings, US holsters and an Austrian ammo pouch. Mildew hasn't come back so far. Don't have any pigskin to try it on. Thanks for the "how to". I don't know about bathrooms: most of the mold I've seen there is black, while mildew is white. Probably a different animal, that might possibly thrive on drier sheets.
