found this one at local flea market. Hakim 8mm with bright clean barrel. stock has been broke and repaired(badly I might add) at wrist. also cut down at rear
barrel band. all metal in good shape as best I can tell with the paint all over it. no import marks, not sure if that is normal. prints a nice 2" group at
100 yrds. with 70's Yugo 196 gr.

I did a little Hakim blasting yesterday. At one hundred yards it was swinging the 3½" steel circle most every time using Romanian surplus. My buddies shot
more rounds through it than I did when I passed it around.

That would be a fun gun to shoot if you got it at a really good price.
Well, it'd still be a fun gun to shoot at any price, but more fun if you got a good deal on it. Finding wood for it will be difficult and expensive, especially finding the nosecaps and all. You might just want to clean the wood up, do away with the camo job, keep it like that, and maybe put a sticker on it that says, "I didn't do this...someone else did."

I was looking through an old SGN this morning. Sarco had Hakim wood at one time, you may want to give them a call and see if they still do.

wood from sarco is $150+shipping. wouldn't be able to find the handguard or nose cap. i'm going to clean itg up and Marine Tex the stock wrist. barrel
is free floated and it shoots really good. wished they had made scope/sniper mounts for these. it would be a perfect candidate for a repro. i got it and 300
rounds of loose ammo for $250. too good a deal to turn down.

I have one and they are a lot of fun....muzzle blasts clears out the range of other shooters.
