The pistol appears to be original in all regards and, as far as I can tell, sports all the correct markings.
I even figured out how to field strip her which was pretty straightforward, though getting the slide stop back in place was a bit challenging.
Anyway, the only mildly disappointing aspect of my S&W Model 1917 trade deal for this pistol was that the M1911A1 came with a blued "COLT .45 AUTO" magazine and not a correct WWII magazine for a Remington-Rand.
If anyone happens to have a correct magazine for trade or sale just shoot me a PM or email. I'm also on the hunt for a 1945 dated holster and magazine pouch if anyone has spares they're willing to part with

. I have just sent money off for a correct General Shaver magazine and an "R" or "S" marked magazine as well. And then I
traded my Colt .45 AUTO mag that came with the pistol for an "L" marked magazine so I should be pretty set with the exception of a 1945 dated holster
and magazine pouch.
