Need to vote on this one folks. The movement is to ban or make permanent a modified "assault" weapons ban. Do not sacrifice one type of gun to
save your own. Stand up for the 2nd amendment.

I'm on it.
34% for the ban, 65 against. It's going to be an uphill battle. But, I'm thinking there are enough people who have a bitter taste over the 1st ban that are getting more involved this time. My theory anyway. Greg |

Placed my vote ! We will be in a much better position then last time. The public as a whole, understands now that the original ban was a bunch of crap!

The only thing that will work here is to call, write, email your elected officials and to give them reasoned and articulate arguments on what and why the
Constitution's amendments are there, and what they do. Trust me fellas, just to gripe about the 2nd Amendment isn't good enough. We have to defend the
ENTIRE Constitution.
And we have to do it together. In the past I've talked with hunters, shotgunners, plinkers, and others that said "I don't see any need for one of them assault weapons, and I don't ever want one, so "they" can have 'em." Those that want assault firearms will never stop there, they want them all. As stated, we MUST start letter writing campaigns to our elected officials. To say "I never voted for any of those guys" is a cop out, it's surrender. Whether you voted for anyone or not, your letters count, the numbers count. The squeaky wheel gets the grease. Letters to your local papers editor count. If they don't publish it, edit it and sent it again. Get your friends who support you to write or call. And for crying out loud, don't just say "I believe in the 2nd Amendment" and quit there. Why do you? Why is it important? What are the true numbers of people killed each year after law enforcement shootings, criminal on criminal killings, or accidental deaths? These numbers count! Why? Because less people are killed each year with firearms than by automobiles, yet they don't want to make it harder to drive, they just want to remove all firearms "to protect people." Australia and Britain banned, collected, and destroyed thousands of firearms in the name of "protecting society." Has that ban worked? Is their violent crime rate reduced or are more people getting robbed with firearms? Japan has the most draconian firearms laws on the planet, yet the Yakusa still has, and uses firearms. This is a war fellas, a war that can't be fought by violence, it must be fought with our brains, words, and persistence. If you don't want to or care enough to fight for our rights then just shut up, go to your basement with your collection, and stay out of the way of those that will. However remember this, if we loose, "they" will be coming for it. I've written each of my elected officials twice this year already and now I feel a third coming on. When they answer with that "token letter," pick out the parts you disagree with and write 'em again, expressly addressing those statements your disagree with. Let them know your following what they do and why they do it. Give them no rest, because I'm here to tell you, the other guys aren't giving them any either. If it takes marching in the streets, singing Kumbaya, and waving a sign I'm up for it. Yours for victory, Eric
