I've never gone though J&G before, but they delivered quickly and without fuss (didn't have to fax them an ID or anything like that). I'm planning to get a tin of Romanian 7.62x25 from them at the next opportunity. I ordered three bandoleers, 210 rounds total at $0.30 per round (wish I could have afforded more). No corrosion, the bullets are tight in the cases and I see no cracks. If this stuff shoots as well as the 1947 Turk I have I'll be very pleased, it's a pretty good deal for ammo on stripper clips (not the best stripper clips out there, but they work fine for me).

Still have a few full cases from a couple of years ago and a bunch of ammo cans packed with different vintages. Mostly I shoot it as it is from bolt guns. Use in a semiauto produces exceptional wear on the action, even the ones with adjustable gas valves. I've broken some down to use as components with varying degrees of success. The brass is reloadable if you have a source of .217 diameter berdan primers. Cases made during WWII seem to have less copper in the alloy and split or separate from time-to-time. If reloaded, annealing the necks is a must. My best lot was made in 1938. Dave Dave Green, NRA Life Member since 1973

Good God, .30 a round now? I'm rich! Anyway, at least you have decent stuff for a bolt gun. The Romo x25 is great. If your going to run it thru a TOK or CZ52 put the shells thru a Lee factory crimper first. The ammo is great but there is a little lip at the neck from the original crimping. Run it thru the die first, set only enough to smooth the lip out and that ammo will run thru your gun like a hot knife thru butter.

Only the 7.62x54R can be had for cheaper I think. It's double what I used to pay three years ago, but still a lot cheaper than commercial ammo. I'm pretty happy with J&G, I think I'll make my next couple ammo purchases through them.

The CMP is a bit of a special case, of course. Look at what they charge for their rifles compared to the second hand market! Bargains all of them.

Posts: 486 (03/25/09 10:36 AM) active member Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts Report Post	I am not a fan of the Turk though I have had a bunch and sold off about 20 bandoleers at $15.00 a piece so I guess I can see why they went so fast. 30 cents a round for dirty ammo that is not designed for the K98k (It is a copy of the Gew-98 WWI round) that uses a .321 bullet just does not work as well as the Yugo M75. When the Turk was less than 10 cents delivered (we gasped at that big increase for 6 cents!!) Widener's started selling the best 8MM ammo made, the Yugo M75 sniper ammo. It sold for $315.00 a case of 900 sealed and that shipped to my house was under $338.00 which is 37 1/2 cents per round shipped. Considering it is light years better than the Turk (or Romanian or 50's Yugo etc) I have to wonder why anyone would consider anything but the M75. Mind you, if you bought it for under 10 cents that I get but even then if you could sell it for 30 cents and buy M75 why not. I use to unload the Turk and reload 38gr of the same powder back in for a soft shooting light load. I had to set the iron sites at 500 yards to shoot it at 100 yards but I could shoot 25 round in 4 inches.
